Marsovin Cellars

Marsovin Cellars, originally built in the 17th century by the Knights of St. John, has a rich and fascinating history. Initially used for the storage of timber, the cellars have been developed over the years into a hub of Maltese winemaking. Today, the cellars are brimming with history, representing over 100 years of experience in the industry, spanning four generations of the Cassar family.

Marsovin is renowned for producing some of the finest Maltese wines, crafted from grapes sourced from the family’s privately owned estates as well as from local Gozitan and Maltese farmers. This commitment to quality has made Marsovin a household name, both on the island and overseas.

The entrance hall of the cellars is filled with tools and equipment, giving visitors a glimpse into some items used for the production of wine in the past. Descending the antique spiral staircase, one enters the historic cellars where wines are stored for maturation in barrels. Over the years, these cellars have welcomed wine enthusiasts from around the world, offering a unique and immersive experience. A highlight of the cellars is the extraordinary Wine-bank, where older vintages are preserved and allowed to age in bottles.
